Inspired by the stop asian hate movement

LLN Designs is a passion project I started in March 2020. I always wanted to sell my own apparel (as a side hustle) that meant a lot to me. I launched a feminist empowerment collection in 2020 and in 2022, I created the “But Are You Listening?” collection to raise awareness about Asian hate crimes.

Imagine not meeting your friend, coworker or significant other if their parents didn’t flee from their country. “Raised by Refugees” is inspired and dedicated to my own parents (RIP dad) who escaped the Vietnam war and came to America. The design represents a wave since they traveled by sea.

Even as a millennial Asian-American, I am aware I have grown up privileged compared to my parents, siblings, and some friends. Sometimes we need the reminder, whether it’s because of education, class, race, ability (able-bodied), sexual orientation, etc. Have you checked your privilege lately?
